How to make your makeup last longer!

So you've applied your makeup, done your hair and left the house only to find that by 3pm it looks like you've survived a hurricane. What now?! You're not alone. It's no secret that I love make up but let's be honest...it doesn't always last as well as it should. Here are my tried and tested tips on how to make your makeup last longer.

Not to prime is a crime

For some, this step may be optional but if you want to make your makeup base smooth and long lasting, this is definitely a step you must include in your beauty routine. A setting powder

This is the most common type of setting product you may find and yes its very effective. You may have heard of the term called ‘baking’. No, not the cake kind but the setting your makeup base kind! This method is more suited for combination or oily skin types. For this, you use a good amount of setting powder and place it all over areas you want to set for instance, under eyes, under the cheek bones near the jawline, T-zone etc. 

A setting spray

Just like the setting powder, the spray helps lock the makeup in place! This product can be used before staring your makeup, like a primer, and of course, after you’re done with it. A trick I picked up recently is to use it while blending your base makeup like foundation or concealer. You gotta dampen your beauty blender with the setting spray and blend the base with it. That way, you’re setting the base while blending! Try it next time you put on your base!

Long-Lasting Makeup

Maybe your makeup just isn’t long-lasting. Yeah, we don’t know the feeling cuz everything from gush is made to live through your life! It’s life proof! Have you tried the lipsticks? Or the eyeliner?
